Volunteer Opportunities

Development Office Support:
Do you want to help Catholic Charities fulfill its mission of supporting children, youth, families, and seniors from crisis to stability to well-being?
Please help the Development department with administrative tasks. This includes but is not limited to copying, filing, and making follow-up phone calls and, additionally, assisting in helping with Fundraising Events. As such, a volunteer in this capacity must be friendly, positive, professional, detail-oriented, and organized. Strong communication skills, verbal and writing. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Facilities: Help Catholic Charities East Bay offices clean and safe. The Facilities Volunteer will perform light maintenance tasks and other work-related duties as assigned. This person will be supervised by the Facilities Coordinator.

Housing Services: Make a difference working in Housing services by helping people in need to find a house. The Housing Intake Volunteer provides support to the Housing Services’ staff by conducting screening assessments to determine if someone is eligible for housing assistance. This position also serves to connect people to additional resources to address needs. This volunteer may also be trained to complete Season of Sharing applications. Will aid staff with appointment reminders and post-service follow-up calls. As such, a volunteer in this capacity must be friendly, positive, professional, detail-oriented and organized.

Development Engagement Assistant: Do you want to help Catholic Charities fulfill its mission of supporting children, youth, families, and seniors from crisis to stability to well-being?
You can help assist the Development department with thank you calls and handwritten notes to Parishes and Donors and keep the office more organized. As such, a volunteer in this capacity must be friendly and positive. Strong communication skills: verbal and writing and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Development Event Assistant:
Help Catholic Charities fulfill its mission of supporting children, youth, families, and seniors from crisis to stability to well-being!
You can help assist the Development department with planning events planning speaker series, including luncheons, social hours, and charitable events. As such, a volunteer in this capacity must be friendly and positive.

Volunteer for Golf Tournament: Volunteering is an exciting way to participate in fundraising. We are looking for friendly, dedicated, hardworking volunteers for the tournament’s success.

Immigration Legal Internship: Make a difference in the lives of immigrants by volunteering with the Legal Team at Catholic Charities East Bay! We are currently seeking interns and volunteers to support our work. In this role, you will receive training and mentorship to provide direct service to primarily Spanish-speaking clients. Your primary responsibility will be to help clients complete applications for citizenship and renewals for DACA under the supervision of an attorney or accredited legal representative. This position is a hybrid of remote and in-person work based out of our Oakland, Concord, or Richmond offices.
