Volunteer Opportunities

Development Administrative Assistant: Assists the Development department with Administrative tasks. This includes but is not limited to: copying, filing, making follow up phone calls. Additionally, assisting in helping with Fundraising Events. As such, a volunteer in this capacity must be friendly, positive, professional, detail-oriented and organized. Training is provided.
Position available in the following offices:


Housing Services: The Housing Intake Volunteer provides support to the Housing Services’ staff by conducting screening assessments to determine if someone is eligible for housing assistance. This position also serves to connect people to additional resources to address needs. This volunteer may also be trained to complete Season of Sharing applications. Will aid staff with appointment reminders and post-service follow-up calls. As such, a volunteer in this capacity must be friendly, positive, professional, detail-oriented and organized. Training is provided.

Legal Administrator: Our professional attorneys, staff, law school interns and pro-bono attorneys offer legal counseling for low-income immigrants. Catholic Charities is seeking volunteers to assist with administrative tasks and provide basic information to clients.
Position available in the following offices:

Reception Information & Referral: The Reception Information and Referral Volunteer is crucial to the success of Catholic Charities. This volunteer will serve as a first point-of-contact for members of our community who call into or walk into Catholic Charities. As such, Reception and Information Referral Volunteer must be patient, polite, and helpful above all else. Bilingual (English/Spanish) volunteers are preferred for this volunteer role. This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for retired office professionals wanting to give back, students who want work experience at a busy social service agency, and anyone who wants to help people in crisis in our community. Catholic Charities is willing to work with students and schools to provide class credits for this volunteer opportunity wherever possible.

Spanish Translator and Interpreter: This is a perfect opportunity for anyone bilingual in English and Spanish wanting to assist undocumented youth, individuals, and families in our community who have been placed in removal proceedings in immigration court.

Most volunteer opportunities are available Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
