Our Immigration Legal Services team joined community partners at RYSE this past weekend to connect Richmond families with trusted legal resources, workshops, and free consultations. More than 150 community members attended the event.
This past Saturday, our Immigration Legal Services team co-hosted a community immigration forum at RYSE alongside partners, Reimagine Richmond and East Bay Sanctuary Covenant. More than 150 people attended, and 60 walked away with a free one-on-one legal consultation with our legal department. Over 15 organizations including First Five and the Mexican Consulate set up at the resource fair, and participants joined Know Your Rights and family preparedness workshops throughout the day.
This event is part of a broader effort made possible by a grant from the City of Richmond. Since receiving this new funding, ILS has been reaching Richmond residents through webinars, canvassing, monthly consultation days at the Multicultural Institute, and forums at local schools and houses of worship. We have more events planned in the year ahead and look forward to continuing this work in the community.
