Just like CPR training, Mental Health First Aid prepares you to recognize the signs and symptoms of distress and connect a youth with the help they need. Mental Health First Aid trainings empowers adults who engage with adolescents to respond compassionately and directly when a youth experiences a mental health challenge or crisis.
Topics covered in this course include typical adolescent development, potential signs and symptoms of mental health conditions, and a simple (but not easy!) 5-part plan for support. All attendees receive a manual, local resources, and breakfast as part of this training.
Attendance to both sessions required to receive certification.
