The Livermore Knights of Columbus are hosting a parish information night for Catholic Charities on Thursday May 3 at 6:30 pm in the St. Michael large hall

The CEO of Catholic Charities, Mr. Solomon Belette, and PGK Tom McCaffrey will give a presentation and answer all questions about this worthy ministry. The Knights are providing light refreshments and beverages. Please come early that night and bring your families and friends for this enlightening event.

Founded in 1935, CCEB is the social service arm of the Oakland Diocese. Their noble goals are to eradicate poverty, reduce violence, and assimilate the immigrants. CCEB makes a difference where it counts the most by providing crucial help to people of all faiths and nationalities. They offer means for people to pull their families away from the terrible grips of poverty and violence. It is the largest provider of such services in the East Bay currently helping over 20,000 families and individuals in crisis.

With service centers throughout the East Bay area, CCEB puts 78% of every dollar raised directly into their desperately needed programs. This year, CCEB is experiencing a huge increase in requests for help, 45% more in some areas. As the economic recovery drags on, these requests will go even higher. Your immediate help can keep these programs in place.

Please support CCEB by donating generously to their Annual Appeal in the second collection on May 20 or directly from your home. Further information, including donation instructions is on the CCEB website at www.cceb.org.
