Grant Writing Assistant
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Reports to the Grant Writer.
- Assists in all aspects of grant writing, reporting, prospecting, and maintaining grant proposal and report calendar.
- Assists with or takes the lead on grant proposals and reports
- Assists with research required for grant proposals
- Maintains the proposal and report deadline calendar
- Acts as liaison with program staff as needed
- Researches and identifies new foundation, corporate and government funding prospects
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Bachelors degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 2 years experience in grant writing
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Development Department
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sense of humor and good interpersonal skills
- Experience with MS Office software (Word, Excel)
Preferred
- Experience with online prospect research tools
- Familiarity with local foundation and corporate foundations
COMPENSATION AND HOURS
- TBD
- 20 hours per week with some flexibility
